Suspect evading Saskatoon police ditches motorcycle

Saskatoon police are looking for a motorcyclist who was speeding on Circle Drive and then later ditched the motorcycle in an alley. File / Global News

SASKATOON – Saskatoon police are looking for the rider who evaded them Monday night on a motorcycle which was later ditched in the College Park East neighbourhood.

Members of the police traffic unit were looking for speeders in an unmarked vehicle near Circle Drive and Preston Avenue when they spotted two motorcyclists travelling at a high rate of speed around 10 p.m. and attempted to stop them.

With emergency lights activated, one of the motorcyclists pulled over for police but the other continued riding on Circle Drive.

Officers cancelled their pursuit due to vehicle traffic and speed.

The suspect was last seen heading eastbound on 8th Street from McKercher Drive.

Just before midnight, police located the motorcycle involved abandoned in an alley in the 300-block of Auld Place.
