TORONTO – A Colorado dog is being credited for foiling a robbery after it alerted its owners in the middle of the night.
According to NBC News, Squid alerted his owners on July 23 after something awakened him.
“It was the middle of the night, about 3-3:30 a.m. and Squid just sits up in his bed and is starting to growl,” Tina Fuller told the news station. “It’s pretty unusual for him to do that.”
Fuller said she looked out the bedroom window and saw two suspicious-looking men.
Fuller and her boyfriend called police and one suspect was arrested and charged with trespassing and burglary. The second suspect fled the scene.
According to NBC, Fuller’s car was broken into. Police were able to recover some of the stolen property.
There’s no word if Squid received a steak dinner as a reward.
