WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Jets have avoided salary arbitration with Michael Frolik as they sign the forward to a one-year contract extension worth $3.3 million.

Frolik scored 15 goals and 27 assists in 81 games last year during his first season as a Jet. He was acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a third round and fifth round draft pick.

Frolik and the Jets were scheduled to meet Thursday for club elected salary arbitration.
