Man tasered after barricading himself inside floral department cooler

RCMP say the 46-year-old man barricaded himself inside the cooler after aggressively confronting customers and staff at the Safeway in the 10300-block of King George Blvd.

Surrey RCMP say they tasered a man who barricaded himself inside the flower cooler at a local Safeway Monday.

RCMP say the 46-year-old man barricaded himself inside the cooler after aggressively confronting customers and staff at the Safeway in the 10300-block of King George Blvd.

Once officers arrived, they say the man behaved aggressively and refused to acknowledge their demands.

He was tasered and arrested under the Mental Health Act without incident. The man was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.

No customers or staff suffered any injuries during the incident.
