Previous story:

Vancouver Police officers are looking for an alleged arsonist believed to be responsible for setting three separate fires in downtown businesses Sunday afternoon.

Investigators say in all three cases, the man entered the public washrooms of various shops – and set fire to the garbage and waste bins.

The first fire was set around 4:30 p.m. Sunday at a business on Robson Street near Bute.

About an hour later, a second fire was reported at a coffee shop on Davie near Thurlow Street.

The third and final incident was started at about 7:30 p.m. at a restaurant on Mainland near Nelson Street.

Police say no one was hurt in any of the fires and the damage was relatively minimal.

Witnesses describe the suspect as white, in his mid to late twenties, with a medium build and short light brown hair. He was also seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt.

Officers are collecting any potential video evidence – and are asking anyone with information to call the Vancouver Police or Crime Stoppers.
