KELOWNA, B.C. – A series of storm cells rolled into the B.C. Interior, including the Okanagan Wednesday, creating havoc as trees blew onto numerous power lines.

Lightning even struck several trees, causing at least two small fires.

Rain accompanying the storm assisted in keeping the flames from spreading.

Fortis BC has been called to the site of several electrical transformer explosions throughout Kelowna.

While the power was out in downtown Kelowna for about 20 minutes, lingering outages remain to be fixed throughout town.

No injuries have been reported.

Penticton and Vernon saw small amounts of hail. There are no immediate reports of crop damage.
