Glitzy hotel at Calgary airport appeals to business crowd

CALGARY- A glitzy hotel is set to open its doors, right in the new airport terminal.

As part of the $2 billion expansion at the Calgary International Airport, a Delta hotel will be built over the arrivals and departures area in the international terminal.

Boasting 318 luxury rooms and over 17-thousand square feet of meeting space, it was planned with business travellers in mind.

“The hotel has been designed with generous amount of square footage for meeting rooms, and ballrooms for meetings and conferences,” explains Stephan Poirier, VP of the Calgary Airport Authority. “It’s easier to do business, and easier to stay and play as well.”

The CEO of Delta Hotels says the idea of joining the hotel to the arrivals level was too good to pass up.
