CALGARY – Police say no charges will be laid in a fatal collision over the weekend that killed a man in his late 40’s.
It happened in the 100 block of Saddlecrest Green N.E. around 11 p.m. on Saturday.
Police say although it had first been reported the victim was hit by a car, their investigation suggests he had thrown himself on the hood of the car in an attempt to stop the driver from leaving.
Police believe he then fell off and struck his head on the pavement, sustaining critical injuries. He later died of his injuries.
As the driver in this case did not cause the incident, police say no charges will be laid.
The victim and the driver are known to each other.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
