UPDATE: The three suspects in the Pitt Meadows arson have turned themselves in on Monday night. The names of the males are not being released pending possible criminal charges.
Coquitlam RCMP are looking for three men they think are responsible for torching a waterfront cabin in Widgeon Creek in Pitt Meadows.
Police say the cabin, which is so secluded it is boat-access only, was completely destroyed by fire on July 7.
Built in 1955 on the south end of Pitt Lake, it was used as a hunting cabin, but over the years, three families have shared it as a summer home.
Cabin’s owner, 83-year-old Norm Bradford, says while the arson is heartbreaking, the property has been vandalized more than 18 times over the years.
The three suspects were caught on a surveillance camera mounted on a tree outside the property by Bradford and his son.
The men aren’t known to police or the owners.
Two people canoeing saw the men leave the fire in an aluminum skiff and head toward Grant Narrows regional park.
Police are hoping someone will recognize them and turn them in.
