WINNIPEG – A cyclist is in critical condition after being hit by a van early Saturday morning.
Police have closed the intersection of Salter Street and College Avenue to investigate the crash.
The 40-year-old male cyclist was hit by the pictured red van just after 2 a.m. Saturday morning.
The cyclist was rushed to hospital in critical condition after the driver immediately stopped and called police.
Police say, “alcohol consumption by the cyclist is being considered as a factor in this collision.”
No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is still ongoing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.
