A truck full of fireworks ignited in Swift Current Wednesday night, putting on quite a light show.
The Swift Current Fire Department says something went wrong with the truck’s fuel system. It started leaking fuel.
The driver pulled off of Highway 1 to deal with the issue, but the truck burst into flames before he could get out.
He managed to jump out the passenger side door safely.
The truck was already up in flames in when firefighters arrived just after 10 p.m. Wednesday on the Highway 1 overpass.
They determined there was no risk to the public, so they made the call to let the fireworks burn out.
It took two hours for the explosions to completely die off.
