The disinfection system is operating effectively and the distribution system has been thoroughly flushed, according to a release from the South East Kelowna Irrigation District.

The original story from July 17th follows:

A boil water advisory is in place for the South East Kelowna Irrigation District (SEKID) which serves roughly 3,500 customers.

The advisory was prompted after a planned power outage to the disinfection system for routine maintenance.

“The back-up generator used to power the chlorination system has failed, stopping the supply of chlorine to the water system,” according to Toby Pike with the South East Kelowna Irrigation District.
