REGINA – Police are no longer searching for a suspect in a stabbing incident involving a 69 year old man at the Pasqua Hospital this morning, because they say it appears the stab wounds were self-inflicted.
The incident happened just before 10 a.m. Monday. Staff and witnesses tell Global News the incident happened near an elevator on the first floor. It was initially reported to police as a stabbing and possible robbery.
Police went to work searching for a suspect, but they’ve now concluded it’s not a criminal case. The evidence indicates the multiple stab wounds were self-inflicted.
The man is still receiving treatment in hospital for serious injuries.
