REGINA – A 24-year-old Regina man is facing weapon and drug charges after the SWAT team surrounded a home on Dewdney Avenue Friday night.
Police set up a safety perimeter around a house on the 3500 block of Dewdney Avenue, and a police armored vehicle was used to make sure officers were safe as they approached.
At 10:22 p.m. the first of several people exited the house, and they were taken into custody without incident.
There were also a number of dogs in the house and animal protection was on hand to ensure the dogs were handled properly. The animals were then released to a family member of the suspect.
Keith Campbell Schell is facing three charges of possession of a prohibited weapon and one charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Other occupants of the house were released without any charges.
Schell made his first court appearance at provincial court in Regina on Monday morning.
