LETHBRIDGE – Lethbridge Police are investigating an alleged case of animal abuse.
On Wednesday, officers responded to a call of a cat being shot in the eye. It happened on the city’s north side, but police say it’s unclear exactly where because the cat had a tendency to roam the neighbourhood.
According to the pet’s owners, when it did return home it had an injury to its eye.
The cat was taken to a veterinary clinic, and during surgery a pellet was discovered. The feline’s eye then had to be removed.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information to call the Lethbridge Regional Police complaint line at 403-328-1122.
