You have to figure that there’s a support group for nearly everything. I don’t have a preference for one or another, but if I had to, I’d be keeping Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) near the top of the list.
Many of us know someone who has had cancer. But where do you go for support?
You’ll always have family and friends, but sometimes, that little extra push is the difference-maker.

Melissa experiences the Sask. view while skydiving
I spent the entire morning at the air park pretty much expressing the nervousness I had built up.
While the idea of throwing myself off a plane seemed incredible to me, once the day arrived, I was about to chicken out.
But then I saw people both young and old jumping and I thought, why not me.
The folks over at Skydive South Sask are super supportive and knowledgeable which really made my first jump comfortable.
If you’d like to know how my first jump went all I can say it was AMAZING! Nothing in this world compares to absolute freedom and relaxation felt in the air.
The scariest part for me was the plane door opening. To be honest the sound of the wind was beyond terrifying. It was loud, cold and so strong I thought I must be some kind of crazy doing this.
But once Mark told me to take a deep breath we were off , it was smooth sailing from there.
If you haven’t done it, even if you’re scared of heights, I still suggest you enjoy the sights of Saskatchewan from up above.
