TORONTO – The Grid TO, a weekly Toronto-based free magazine, announced it’s folding doors after three years and 162 issues.
The magazine announced its closure on Twitter Wednesday morning in a series of three tweets.
The Grid, a TorStar publication, launched in 2011 and branded itself as a “fresh, accessible voice for Toronto” that tried to “capture the vibe and energy of a city in ascendance.”
The magazine won several national and international awards during the last three years including National Magazine Awards and Canadian Online Publishing Awards.
According to TorStar publication, The Toronto Star, the Grid was “unable to generate sufficient revenue from marketers and other sources.”
