VANCOUVER – Starting later this month you will have to pay a little more to cross the Golden Ears Bridge.
TransLink says as of July 15 tolls will go up 1.5 per cent to match the rate of inflation. The tolls, which pay for building, operating and maintaining the bridge, will increase from five to 15 cents, depending on the type of vehicle. However, there is no change to tolls for registered motorcycle customers.
That means ‘pay as you go’ drivers will have to shell out $4.30 per trip, which is up from $4.25.
The bridge sees a shortfall of 35 to 40 million dollars a year.
The toll adjustments are as follows:
- Watchdog investigates after RCMP unable to find body near Parksville
- B.C. Conservatives dump controversial doctor candidate hours after announcing him
- Nooks or knoll? Vancouver wants your thoughts on new False Creek park
- Police bomb squad conducts demolition after homemade explosives, guns found at B.C. home
