EDMONTON – The RCMP say the female driver of a Porsche was killed in a high-speed, single-vehicle crash Sunday evening in Red Deer.

Officers responded to the crash near Johnstone Drive and Orr Drive.

A silver Porsche was reportedly being driven erratically at a high rate of speed.

The RCMP says it travelled east from Highway 11 onto 67 Street, and the driver went through two red lights before losing control, crossing the median and colliding with a tree.

The vehicle rolled and burst into flames.

The woman who was driving was the only person in the vehicle. She died in the crash.

Her name is not being released until family is notified.
