MONTREAL – François Désir has been charged with second-degree murder Monday in relation to a stabbing death in the Ville-Marie borough.
A 52-year-old man was killed after a fight broke out Saturday night in an apartment building in downtown Montreal.
The incident happened around 9:50 p.m. in an apartment on Malo avenue near Papineau avenue at the approach of the Jacques-Cartier bridge.
The victim was stabbed in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 46-year-old suspect, who is known to police, was arrested shortly after.
This was Montreal’s 16th homicide of the year, three more than this time last year.
