REGINA – Regina police have arrested a man after he purposely rammed his vehicle into another vehicle multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Early Thursday morning police were called to 14th Avenue and Robinson St. for a report of a hit and run. When they arrived witnesses said a man smashed his vehicle into the victim’s vehicle, backed up and smashed into the victim’s car again before he drove away.

En route to the call police received another report that the same man was overturning flower pots in front of a business and running a shopping cart into the front door of another business.

Police arrested 49-year-old Umesh Madhoa Thakre and charged him with failing to stop at a scene of an accident and mischief under $5,000.

Thakre will make his first court appearance on Thursday afternoon.
