TORONTO – A flurry of tweets by newly minted Ontario Minister of Environment Glen Murray has many questioning his political future.
In a comment made on Twitter Wednesday evening, the Toronto Centre MPP said “the last election was my last” and contemplated whether or not he has made a difference in office.
“Promised that if I couldn’t make a difference in 8 or 10 yrs I couldn’t make a difference,” Murray wrote.
The remark drew a number of responses begging some to ask if he’s considering making a jump to federal politics or if he was just disappointed with being removed as Minister of Transportation following the recent provincial election and cabinet shuffle.

“Minister of Environment in Ontario is the best political position I have ever had the privilege to hold,” Murray tweeted back. “I was not demoted. Kathleen Wynne put me in a position where I can fight to ensure we can survive climate change.”
When asked about Murray’s comments Wednesday following a press conference on the province’s pension plan, the premier said she “hasn’t had a conversation with Glen” about it.
Backbencher Steven Del Duca recently replaced Murray as the Minister of Transportation after taking on the role in 2011.
