VANCOUVER – An eye-catching fountain at the Vancouver Art Gallery will be removed in the fall for maintenance work, with no plans to re-install it once the work is over.

The fountain has been in place for almost 50 years.
Critics say it breaks up the plaza in front of the art gallery and is not integrated properly into the public space. It has also caused issues with leaks into the gallery in recent years.
The fountain will be place in storage until another suitable location can be found for it.
