Pedestrian hit by car in Surrey

The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition with head injuries.

One man has critical injuries after being hit by a car in Surrey.

Surrey RCMP say it happened at King George Boulevard and 90th at around 11 p.m. Monday.

The 26-year-old male driver from Surrey stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.

The 47-year-old victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition with head injuries, but they are not believed to be life threatening. Police say he was jaywalking.

Police say alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor.

Investigators say it is too early to tell whether charges will be considered against the driver.
