Mounties say the truck was removed from the Beaver River just outside Beauval, Sask. late Monday and two bodies were recovered from inside the vehicle.

Their names have not been released.

The RCMP underwater recovery team had to deal with the river current and poor visibility in efforts to recover the bodies after the truck went off the bridge Saturday morning.

Police had received a complaint a truck with two local men was speeding around the community. There were concerns the driver may have been impaired.

Patrol officers came across vehicle debris on the bridge and underwater cameras found an object resembling a vehicle in about 20 feet of water.
