Police warn about door-to-door scam in southeast Calgary

CALGARY- Police issued a warning about a door-to-door scam, after a senior was victimized by someone claiming he was locked out of his home.

Officers have received a number of complaints about a man in Douglasglen and Quarry Park, telling people he was locked out of his house and needed cash for a locksmith.

In one case, an elderly man opened his wallet to help, and that’s when the suspect grabbed a large amount of cash and ran away.

He is described as white, 20 to 30 years old, 5’7” to 5’9” tall and about 175 pounds. He was wearing a multi-coloured baseball hat, black shirt, blue jeans and DC shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
