SASKATOON – International hockey is returning to Saskatoon, albeit only for one game.
The Subway Super Series, featuring Team WHL against the Russian National Junior Team, will hit the ice at Credit Union Centre on Nov. 10 in the first game of the six-game series across Canada.
This is the first time the series has returned to Saskatoon in nine years.
“Saskatoon will play host to one of the biggest and most talented stages in junior hockey when the Subway Super Series returns to Credit Union Centre,” said Saskatoon host committee chair Hugh Vassos.
“As well, it’s a great opportunity for Saskatoon to once again be on the national stage.”
“Saskatoon hockey fans are going to witness some of the world’s best junior hockey players,” added Saskatoon Blades president Steve Hogle.
The series is an integral part of identifying players for Team Canada in the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.
Tickets go on sale at noon on June 27. Prices range from $17.50 to $29.50 plus service charges.
