WINNIPEG – Morning Maple Zing is the name of the new Global Winnipeg Morning News ice cream.
Mary Steinke of Beausejour submitted the name in the Morning News Scoop contest, which received hundreds of entries suggesting various names for the maple coffee flavoured ice cream made by Manitoba’s Cornell Crème.
“The name really says it all. It’s short, sweet and has a punchy ending,” Morning News anchor Eva Kovacs said. “Having our very own ice cream flavor is so exciting, especially when it has a local connection with Cornell Crème. It’s a perfect home-grown partnership.”
The ice cream will be available at the beginning of July at the following locations:
Winnipeg
- Constance Popp Chocolatier
- Crampton’s Market
- Delucas
- Kelmar Bakery
- Local Meats & Frozen Treats
- Supper Central
- Vic’s Fruit Market
Beausejour – A Sense of Manitoba (Green Gables)
Boissevain – Rural Roots Food Cooperative
Dencross – Kurbis Country Market
Oakbank – Town Bake Shop & Ice Cream
