The Independent Investigations Office has confirmed it’s investigating after a man jumped from a three-storey parking garage on Sunday.
RCMP responded to the Royal Inland Hospital parking garage just after 8 p.m. for a report of an 18-year-old man threatening to jump.
Officers found the man and managed to talk to him, but some sort of physical altercation took place. The man broke free from officers and jumped from the third level of the parkade, according to police.
He sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he later died.
