New development in Shuswap drive-by killing

KELOWNA — RCMP are expected to reveal new information about a drive-by shooting in the small Shuswap community of Blind Bay that claimed the life of a Sorento man.

Nicholas Larsen, 24, was shot and killed as he drove down Blind Bay Road in June 2011. The shooter was in a passing car.

Area residents have speculated that the shooting was drug-related, but RCMP said at the time they didn’t believe the shooting was gang related. However, they did add that Larsen’s death was not a random attack.
