Friday is likely the last day of classes for students across the province.

The BCTF served 72 hours strike notice Thursday, meaning they will go on a full scale strike on Tuesday.

However, the two sides say they haven’t given up on the hope of inking a tentative deal before Monday.

The teachers union and the government will continue bargaining through the weekend.

The union will also give a new contract proposal to the government, that includes lower wage demands.

The education minister says he hopes they can reach an agreement and end the school year on a positive note.
