Friday June 13th on The Morning News

It’s no secret that rowing is a popular sport in our region – but you may not realize how accessible the sport is. Para-rowing is going strong in Nova Scotia because it connects people who face a variety of challenges with the thrill of moving swiftly on the water. At 6:45Patrick Branch from Row Nova Scotia tells us more.

Elisha Lim is an award winning artist, activist and filmmaker who is in Halifax for the OUTeast Film Festival.  At 7:15 Elisha will share a story about how a simple word changed their life.  You won’t see gender pronouns the same way after a conversation with this engaging, postitive and inspiring person.

It’s not often we get a 4-time Juno award winner on the set! At 7:45 Prevail of Canadian Hip-Hop legends Swollen Members stops to talk about the groups new album and his latest ventures outside of music.

Tomorrow at 8:15 we dig into the finer details of Sustainable Wine Making. Fernando Pavon of Emiliana Vineyards joins us all the way from South America to talk about his company’s focus on organic, stainable and biodynamic agriculture. Get a taste of the vineyard at the helm of the biodynamic movement in Chile tomorrow on the Morning News.

And we wrap up the show at 8:45 with a performance by Blues musician and friend of the show Thom Swift. The 2014 ECMA award winner will be playing a Father’s Day show at The Carleton on Sunday.
