VANCOUVER – Diljit Dosanjh is arguably one of the biggest Punjabi artists on the planet.
And on Wednesday, he was in Surrey B.C. for the launch of his new film.
“Yes I’m very excited to launch the movie in Surrey,” said Dosanjh.
His new film is called Punjab 1984, which focuses on the violence in the Punjab region in the 1980s.
“It was a period of strife, turmoil, murder, torture, it was a very traumatic time,” said Lady B, a local radio host.
“And many of the people that have moved to Surrey, emigrated here, lived through that.”
And that is not the only B.C. connection.
The film was also edited in Surrey.
