OTTAWA – Police have issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for a suspect in the stabbing death of a teenager outside a downtown Ottawa hotel.
Brandon Volpi, 18, died after being stabbed on Saturday while celebrating after his high school prom.
Ottawa police say 18-year-old Devontay Hackett is facing a charge of second-degree murder.
Hackett is described as a light brown-skinned male, six feet tall and 135 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.
Ottawa police Const. Mark Soucy says Hackett is known to police.
He says the investigation is ongoing but Hackett is currently the only person being sought.
