Milkshake the cow thinks she’s a dog

TORONTO – Meet Milkshake, a cow dealing with a massive identity crisis.

Milkshake was rescued by the Grace Foundation in California after spending years with an abusive owner.  For the last four years Milkshake has spent her time with rescued dogs on an El Dorado County ranch.

“She just hangs out with the dogs so I think she just assumes that must be what she is more than a cow,” rancher Beth DiCaprio told CBS Sacramento.

According to the California broadcaster, Milkshake was not introduced to other cows until arriving at the rescue ranch but feels comfortable around the dogs on the farm.

In an interview with UK news agency Caters, DiCaprio said the cow doesn’t enjoy grazing and would rather eat from a bowl.

“I think she thinks it’s pointless finding her own food when she can wait on us bringing it to her in a bowl, like her dog friends,” DiCaprio said.

Milkshake is always by DiCaprio’s side.

“She follows me around all day long, just like my dogs – she comes and watches me tend to all the other animals,” DiCaprio told the news agency. “She’s even followed me into the bathroom before, although she was a little scared of her own reflection.”

There’s no word if Milkshake pees on the rug.
