WINNIPEG – Get ready for a dose of fun!
Winnipeg’s outdoor swimming and wading pools will start opening next week for the summer.
Kildonan Park Pool will open June 16. The city’s other outdoor pools are scheduled to open June 27. Admission to Winnipeg’s non-heated outdoor pools will be free this summer as part of a two-year pilot project. The free pools are: Freight House, Happyland, Norwood, Provencher and Windsor Park. All outdoor pools will be open seven days a week, weather permitting.
Fifteen of the city’s wading pools will open Canada Day: Brock Cordova Park, Bronx Park Community Centre, Central Park, Dakota Park, J.H. Bruns Park, John Steele Park, Keenleyside Park, Machray Park, McKittrick Park, Norquay Community Centre, Pascoe Park, Shaughnessy Park, Transcona Centennial Pool, Vimy Ridge Memorial Park and Westdale Community Centre. The remaining wading pools will open July 2. Operating hours vary but most are open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The city’s spray pads will operate until Sept. 1 and are open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
