Possible E. coli discovery prompts water advisory for Gibsons residents

VANCOUVER – People in Gibsons are being advised to boil their water after the discovery of possible E. coli in the town’s water.

The warning affects more than 1,200 homes.

Officials say the bacteria turned up during routine testing of their new reservoir. They are now trying to determine its source and whether it made its way into the drinking water.

People who live in the area should boil their water for at least two minutes before consuming it.
