@HiddenWeedYVR the latest twitter scavenger hunt

Vancouver’s twitter hidden cash craze has now expanded to hidden marijuana.

The @HiddenWeedYVR twitter account began tweeting on Wednesday, posting photos of locations around Vancouver where plastic containers full of marijuana can be found.

So far, three containers of marijuana have been recovered. A photo posted to the twitter feed shows five different coloured canisters that will be distributed.

People who recover the “prizes” are asked to tweet a picture back to the account so it can be re-tweeted.

Vancouver Police are reminding the public that marijuana possession without a license is illegal.

“For any person who finds the hidden item, possession without a licence is illegal and technically the act of delivering it to a place for someone else would be considered trafficking in a controlled substance under the CDSA. While we use a lot of discretion when it comes to marijuana, the fact that the person could be trafficking to a 12 or 13 year old, if they are the ones who find it, could draw some unwanted police attention. Bottom line is if you take part in illegal activity you run the risk of being arrested,” said a statement from the VPD.
