A Kimberley man seriously injured in Honduras is in desperate need of financial help.
Richard Bay was riding a motorcycle in a remote area of Honduras when he was hit by a bus.
Bay was airlifted to hospital in a private air ambulance. He had a shattered leg, a chunk of his calf was missing, as well as a broken hand and injured shoulder.
His overall recovery will likely take more than a year, so his family would like to get him back to Canada as soon as possible.
Bay had travel insurance, but it ran out.
His family now has to pay out of pocket: $35,000 in medical costs and counting.
He also needs $43,000 for an air ambulance to bring him home.
