TORONTO – Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning Monday afternoon for parts of cottage country including Barrie and Orillia.
The storms, capable of producing strong wind gusts, heavy rain, and hail, made their way across the region just before 3 p.m.

More storms are expected in southern Ontario on Monday afternoon. There is still the chance that they could become severe.
On Tuesday, southern Ontario can expect more thunderstorms with a high of around 25 C.
Remember to keep an eye on the sky and to be aware of the weather in your area. If threatening weather approaches, take shelter indoors.
As a reminder, a thunderstorm or tornado watch is issued when conditions are favourable for severe weather. A warning is when hazardous weather is imminent or occurring.
