TORONTO – Multiple closures will make for a slow commute through Toronto this weekend.
The Don Valley Parkway and the Gardiner Expressway will be shut down this Sunday.
The closure is part of the annual Becel Heart and Stroke Ride for Heart that raises money for the Heart and Stroke foundation.
The event will close the Gardiner from Carlaw to the Humber River and the DVP between the Gardiner and Hwy. 401 between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday.
The TTC will be suspending service on the Yonge line between Eglinton and Bloor for track repairs and upgrades.
Shuttle buses will be in service.
Dundas Square St. will be closed from Yonge to O’Keefe between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday as part of Desifest, an event celebrating South Asian culture.
The 10th annual Kids of Steel triathlon will shut down Kingston Road at Danforth Avenue to Birchmount Road between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.
Maya’s March, a five kilometre walkathon raising funds for Sick Kids, will close Military Road to Ellesmere between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
