UPDATE: The five-year-old girl critically injured in the collision on May 27 has passed away.
VANCOUVER – A five-year-old girl remains in critical condition in hospital this morning after being hit by a car in Abbotsford on Tuesday evening.
Police say at about 5:55 p.m. the girl was hit in a laneway near the 31500-block of Blueridge Drive. A westbound Toyota Corolla, driven by a 42-year-0ld woman hit the girl and remained on the scene.
Abbotsford Fire Rescue and BC Ambulance provided medical treatment for the girl, who was then airlifted to hospital with very serious injuries.
Abbotsford Police Department patrol division officers and collision reconstructionists are continuing the investigation and offer their thoughts and prayers to the girl and her family.
