WINNIPEG – A man who was in the custody of Winnipeg police after a disturbance last week has died in hospital.
The Winnipeg Police Service said the 40-year-old was arrested last Thursday and taken to the District 3 station.
Police said he was put in an interview room where he suffered a medical emergency.
He was transported to hospital in critical condition and died on Monday.
His family has been notified and his name is not being released, police said.
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
