Watch above: Saskatoon police search for suspect after early morning shooting death
SASKATOON – Saskatoon police are investigating the city’s third murder of 2014 after a woman was found dead shortly after midnight on Tuesday in Caswell Hill.
Police were called to the area of the 100-block of 25th Street West after receiving reports of gunshots.
A woman was found dead outside the Caswell Manor building.
Her name has not been released.
Building residents were evacuated and questioned as investigators from the major crime and forensic identification units worked to determine what happened.
It was a knock on the door that Lori McLeod didn’t expect.
“We just got out of bed, we didn’t even eat. We just wanted to make sure to get out of there,” said McLeod.
Residents said this isn’t the first time something like this has occurred in their building.
“It’s very scary, it’s about the second or third time this has happened this month,” said one person.
“It makes you think is this area really safe? Can we be safe in our area?” said Raylene Roy-McLeod.
An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
