A federal court is filled with supporters this afternoon as a judicial review gets underway for asylum-seeker Jose Figueroa.
He came to B.C. 17 years ago living in Langley with his wife and three children.
In 2011, the federal government ordered him back to El Salvador, saying he was once a member of a terrorist group.
Figueroa will not be allowed to speak in his defence but will be able to listen in remotely from the Walnut Grove Lutheran Church where he has been living for the past six months.
His supporters have been rallying outside of court today.
