WATCH: Some North Okanagan residents unhappy with new recycling system

A new recycling program that began this week in the North Okanagan has many residents speaking out. They feel the new system is a step backwards and are worried that more items that should be recycled will instead end up in the trash.

This week responsibility for curbside recycling moved from the regional district to a nonprofit agency called Multi-Material BC. The changes in conjunction with new provincial regulations which aim to shift some of the costs of recycling from taxpayers to businesses.
