Saskatoon traffic restrictions to avoid after long weekend

SASKATOON – A number of traffic restrictions start up after the Victoria Day long weekend in Saskatoon.

All of the following restrictions start around 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

Lane restrictions along 51st Street will be required while crews repair existing manholes and flush sewer lines.

51st Street eastbound centre and median lanes and the westbound median lane will be closed between Faithfull Avenue and Millar Avenue.

There will be no turning onto Cleveland Avenue from 51st.  Turning will be limited in both directions from Cleveland Avenue onto 51st.

All lanes should reopen by 3 p.m. the same day.

The following traffic restrictions will be required as crews replace the curb and gutter on 1st Avenue.

1st Avenue northbound will be closed between Circle Drive and 40th Street East. Access to local traffic will be maintained.

These restrictions are expected to last about a week.

Also starting Tuesday, the Circle Drive eastbound curb lane will be closed just east of 1st Avenue North while crews replace the curb and gutter.

Circle Drive is supposed to reopen by 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Taylor Street East eastbound curb lane is closing Tuesday between Landsdowne Avenue and Dufferin Avenue while crews work complete sidewalk repairs.

This restriction is expected to last until 6 p.m. Thursday without any unforeseen circumstances.

During road construction, the city is reminding motorists to allow extra time when travelling through orange zones, watch for crews and obey all signs.
