Jessica learns how the YWCA is honouring women in the community

For 33 years, women in our community have been recognized for their outstanding efforts in leadership and volunteerism, among many other things.

My boss, Lisa Ford, was nominated last year, and though she did not win, the nomination was well deserved. Tickets are still available for the May 29 event up until May 25.

Melissa checked out the Bowl Blitz

The Friends of the Bowl campaign organizers are hoping to score big today with their Bowl Blitz fundraiser which will have football players travel from business to business in downtown Saskatoon hoping for a little help.

The Friends of the Bowl Foundation has raised just about $4 million of its $11-million goal to complete the revitalization.

The atmosphere this morning was great as the volunteers began to roll in excited to help out. And one thing that I learned today that I thought was great was the increase of females, both at the children level and youth level, looking to get involved in the sport.
