UPDATE: IHIT identifies victim of Surrey’s second homicide in less than a week

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating a deadly stabbing in Surrey.

It happened at a home near 132nd Street and Huntley Avenue around nine last night.

The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Milton Reyes-Moraga.

Reyes-Moraga was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries.

He did not live at the residence.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He lived in the building.

IHIT spokesman Sgt. Adam MacIntosh says the two men knew each other and were co-workers.

“We believe this was a fight that broke out. And unfortunately someone was killed,” says MacIntosh.

Police say the incident is not considered a random act, related to gangs or criminal activity.

Reyes-Moraga was not known to police and had no criminal record.

Police say it was not a domestic incident and is not related to gangs or criminal activity.

No charges have been laid so far. The suspect has been released from custody.

It’s Surrey’s second homicide in less than a week after a man was shot dead in Cloverdale Tuesday morning.
