TORONTO – Once again residents have been told to watch out for severe weather across southern Ontario Wednesday evening.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement calling for thunderstorms and heavy downpours.
A band of thunderstorms – similar to Tuesday evening’s – is making its way across southern Ontario. As of 5 p.m. the system extended from Woodstock to Long Point and was moving northeast.
The thunderstorms may produce heavy lightning but could also contain heavy downpours and possibly small hail.
Remember to keep an eye on the sky and to be aware of the weather in your area.
As a reminder, a thunderstorm or tornado watch is issued when conditions are favourable for severe weather. A warning is when hazardous weather is imminent or occurring.
